Last week's pride market was a fantastic success! I blew up 140 balloons for a rainbow arch, and we painted dozens of childrens faces for free at the market, covering most of them in their choice of rainbow designs: little rainbow kitties, rainbow smileys, and rainbow hearts.
We had some individuals come up and express they're joy at having representation in a Vernon event, which we weren't the only thing happening that week, but we were happy to contribute for sure! I didn't make it to the parade the next day down on 2900 block, but the videos looked great!
Our vendors really took up the challenge, and so many booths had pride-inspired items, and folks came out dressed for the event... probably one of the funnest markets yet!
So this week, we're having a group of folks come out with some tunes, and some activities to host a jam & flow in the park. I'll be bringing my hula hoops (I'm from victoria, circus arts and such are maybe a little bigger there), and you're welcome to bring anything that will work well on grass, juggling, devil sticks, poi, etc, come down and recreate on the grass with us! Or just watch!
